How we helped Tupme see the first light of the day

I personally have helped countless cases long before I join 20PlayTesters, but this case is something that will stay on my mind for a long time. It was a week ago that we were contacted by a developer of Tupme team. Their app was rejected by Google Play Console Team. The reason was “Violation of Broken Functionality policy”. Sounds scary, right? He was scared for sure. And it was the third time he got that response. What caused the violation? Well, Google Play Console Team sent him a screenshot of the Login screen and said there was an unclickable button. After I listened to his explanation, I reckoned the reason could be because the SIGN IN button would be only enabled if the email text field received valid email address with the “@” character, and the password field required at least six characters. So I gave him a free advice: He needed to make the button always enabled and clickable. The form validation should be done after the button was clicked.

And his application got rejected again. Why? Because that wasn’t where the issue lied on. It was something else. Thanks to Google Play’s wrong response, he wasted three weeks on something that had been working just fine instead of something that didn’t actually work. He was exhausted fighting against something he had no idea about. So he decided to pay for our service. And there I went to install the app. Turned out, the unclickable button wasn’t the SIGN IN button which the Google Play Console Team kept insisting on. It was something else. Surprisingly, it was lied on a different screen which took at least four more clicks and swipes to be found. Took me only less than five minutes to figure it out. Within less than two hours, I could give him various advices about app design, functionalities and even in-app privacy policies. Guess what? At the time of me writing this blog post, the application has been approved for less than six hours. That means there were only forty hours needed to pass the production stage. How cool is that?

Our deep consulting service is paid, and while he was fully aware of his payment, he still keeps saying thanks. He feels regret that he didn’t come to us before. Money was never the problem. Time was always the problem. At least his job has been successfully accomplished and now he can finally feel relax. And us too. We’re so happy to accompany him in this emotional journey. We see the bright future of Tupme and we’re so proud to be a part of it.
